March 8, 2009 – Warm sunshine and an extra hour of daylight enticed over twenty volunteers to help with the monthly beach clean-up at The Wall. The group started on the beach near 8th Street and headed north, scouring the rocks for trash. And there was plenty of it!
92 pounds of mixed trash was collected in bags – more than each of the previous months this year. Added to this was a huge knot of ropes weighing a staggering 85 pounds. So the March grand total was an amazing 177 pounds.
A big thank you to everyone who helped out. There’s sure to be more trash by next month so make a note to join us on Saturday, April 4.
Here are some pictures from the afternoon. The full gallery is here.
